5/30 The Battle Plan

“Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day of danger, and having done all the crisis demands, to stand firmly in your place.” Eph. 6:13

I heard it said that “failing to plan is planning to fail.” If this is true in the natural realm, how much more does it apply to the spiritual realm? Most people make plans concerning work, vacations and even hobbies. What if we put as much time into scheduling our spiritual lives?

Throughout 41 years of ministry, I’ve noticed that most Christians try to work God into their lives if there is any time left after all the other activities are taken care of. Starting today, I encourage you to reverse that trend. Jesus said to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Here’s a plan whereby you can live in constant fellowship with the Lord and live in victory.

First of all, decide to pray without ceasing. How is that possible? There must be daily time with God alone. Then walk throughout the day in an attitude of prayer. Keep your mind focused on the Lord. Constantly thank and praise Him for his goodness. Ask for His input in every situation.

Secondly, by keeping on the armor of God, you can fight the good fight of faith. Post reminders of what God says concerning any and every situation you’re dealing with. Don’t get discouraged when it seems as if nothing is happening. Refuse to give up in the middle of the fight. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Great victories come from great battles. In Christ, you are more than a conqueror.

Lastly, trust in the Lord. Feed your faith and starve the doubts that come to your mind. Know that God heard your prayers and He’s working to bring your answer. Angels harken to the voice of God’s word coming out of your mouth. Speak the word only! Hold fast to your confession of faith until you see the manifestation of your prayers. The just walk by faith and not by sight.

Prayer - Father, thank you for helping me to live a life of stability. I desire to prove myself faithful to you. Help me to keep my mind stayed on you. I praise you at all times, in the name of Jesus, amen!
